How to Choose Rechargeable Batteries
In this day and age, with people becoming more environmentally and ecologically aware, it not only makes sense to buy rechargeable batteries from the environmental point of view but also from a savings point of view. The key is to choose the right rechargeable batteries for your needs.Instructions
Step1
Take an inventory of your devices. Whether you're buying regular or rechargeable batteries, you need to know how many of each unique. Inventory your house and your electronic gadgets to determine what size batteries you need and how many of them you need. Step2
Choose between NiMH (Nickel Metal Hydride) or ULSD (Ultra low-self discharge) rechargeable batteries. The NiMH batteries are the most commonly used rechargeable batteries. NiMH batteries are best for devices that are used often and require a strong power charge, such as digital cameras, handheld radios and music players. ULSD batteries are better for devices that don't require too much power such as a wireless computer mouse or keyboard. Step3
Find an accommodating battery charger. Battery chargers for rechargeable batteries come in a variety shapes, similar as batteries do. Some battery charges only charge one size of battery while others charge multiple sizes. If your household only uses AA and AAA batteries then choose a charger that fits that battery size. If you use a variety of sizes, you'll need a more versatile battery charger. Step4
Select either a solar or electric charger. Although electric battery chargers are more commonplace, why not choose a solar battery charger? Companies such as http://www.easy-battery.com/ offer a selection of solar battery chargers. Step5
Set your price. Rechargeable batteries are a bit more expensive than their non-rechargeable counterpart. Similarly, some rechargeable battery brands are more expensive than others. Do a little bit of shopping around to find the one that falls within your price range.
